Have you heard of the cinematograph? The cinematograph was a film machine and cinema projector, an invention invented by Léon Bouly in 1892, but lost its patent. The Lumiere brothers on February 13, 1895 recorded the patent. The cinematographer’s first public screening was held on December 28, 1895 at the world’s first cinema, Eden located in La Ciotat, in southeastern France.
Did you know that in the Azores some cinemas have been recorded as well as soap operas and series?! Of particular note is the film Quando o Mar Galgou a Terra, based on the book by Armando Côrtes Rodrigues, the mini-series Xailes Negros based on the book by José de Almeida Pavão and the soap opera Ilha dos Amores.
