The mural at the Praça do Emigrante is a brick panel that records for posterity all those who made a point of being associated with the sponsorship of the public art piece Saudades da Terra, a tribute to Azorean emigrants, many because they themselves participated in this great adventure of emigration, others because they wanted to perpetuate the memory of emigrant relatives, and still others because they feel an obligation to pay tribute to those who contributed to the development of the Azores and the communities of destination with blood, sweat, and tears.
CHOOSE THE SIZE YOU WANT TO PUT ON THE MURAL
There are three sizes of plaques available for the Emigrant Square. All are engraved and are guaranteed for life in our Emigrant Square.
Steps to order:
- Send us a message with your choice of plaque and text/image you wish to place
- We make some examples and send them to you until you approve
- We produce the plaque and you pick an available place in the Square
- Make the payment
- Coordinate with us when you want to place your plaque (or have someone represent you)
