PLACING OF THE PLAQUE OF RGERIO AND LILIANA LOPES

It was with great joy that Commander Rogério Lopes, an immigrant in São Miguel Island since the 70’s and his wife, the distinguished associate of AEazores, Liliana Lopes, placed a plaque in the Emigrant Square.

Rogério Lopes stands out as an important personality in the history of Azorean aviation, known as “safety pilot” for his remarkable work, especially during his time with SATA. Liliana Lopes is, in turn, a prestigious artist and the author of the design “Calçada dos Mundos” in Emigrant Square.

It is with great satisfaction that the AEAzores remembers the moment when this distinguished couple placed the plaque in Emigrant Square.
