Today is the international day of human solidarity! Solidarity is one of the fundamental values of international relations in the 21st century, where those who suffer or benefit less deserve the help of those who have more!
Did you know that many of the azorean emigrants, when they settled in the places, were creating solidarity institutions? An example of this is the Fundação Faialense in Rhode Island, USA, which distributes scholarships to students from the island of Faial with little economic chance of studying and among other solidarity institutions.
To celebrate this day and this concept, don’t forget to show solidarity this Christmas and give to those who need it most!
