Last May 24, as part of the Azores Day celebrations, we inaugurated the exhibition in honor of all Casas dos Açores of the World, at the Praça do Emigrante. This was an event aimed at recognizing the important role of each Azorean House as a link between the Azores and the Communities.
Therefore, we would like to thank all Casas dos Açores for their brilliant work with the Azorean communities in the Azores of a Thousand Islands, as well as all those who were present at the inauguration day of the exhibition, namely Mr. José Andrade, Regional Director of Communities; Mr. Alexandre Gaudêncio, Mayor of Ribeira Grande; Mr. João Leite, president of the Movimento de Romeiros de São Miguel; Mr. Fernando Maré, Mr. Chrys Chrystello; and Mr. Aurélio Ferreira, emigrant.
Three more plaques were also placed in the Emigrant Square:
-Plaque of Tribute to António Tabico and to all the Romeiros (placed by the honoree’s sister, Mr. João Leite and Fernando Maré);
-Plaque of the Lusophone Colloquiums (placed by Chrys Chrystello)
-Plaque of the emigrant Mr. Aurélio Ferreira (placed by himself and his wife).
Congratulations to all and thank you very much.
Best Regards!
