EMIGRANT SQUARE
Last Friday week (May 5), the Azorean Emigrants Association was able to attend a ceremony of stone laying in the Emigrant Square in honor and celebration of the Pacheco family (Pachecada), allusive to the genealogy of Maria Teresa Fisher Berquó de Aguiar and André Vaz Pacheco do Canto e Castro and the emigration of their three sons: Fernando, António and Duarte, which still featured a “Pico de Honra” to dignity and respect with the presence of the President of the Board of Directors of the Azorean Emigrants Association, Dr. Rui Faria.
This intimate and heartfelt ceremony was at the request of one of the family members, in commemoration of the Portuguese, Azorean and Brazilian roots of this family.
On behalf of the Azorean Emigrants Association, we would like to thank this opportunity and congratulate the Pacheco family for the ceremony.
