It is with sadness that the Azorean Emigrants Association is informed of the death of Mrs. Helena Chrystello, Professor and Translator, vice-president of the Board of AICL Colóquios da Lusofonia.
Described as passionate about her Azoreanness, Helena was known for her promotion of the Azores, dedicating her life to Azorean and Lusophone literary culture, both in terms of research and compilation.
The Azorean Emigrants’ Association and its entire constitution as an association therefore mourn the death of Professor Helena Chrystello and extend our deepest condolences to all her family and friends, and especially to Chrys Chrystello, an AEAzores member, as her husband and partner.
