The book Trasantlântico – As Migrações Açorianas by José Andrade, of Letras Lavadas editions, with a preface by José Manuel Bolieiro, will be launched on the island of São Miguel, on February 7 (Tuesday), at 6pm, in the auditorium of the Public Library and Regional Archive of Ponta Delgada.
The cover, created by Letras Lavadas publishing house, with a cover image designed by the Azorean Emigration Museum, depicts the embarkation from Ponta Delgada to Canada in 1954.
The book will be presented by the President of the Emigrants’ Association, Rui Faria, and also by the President of the Azores Immigrants’ Association, Cristina Borges. The session will be chaired by the President of the Azorean Government, Mr. José Manuel Bolieiro.
