On April 15th (Saturday), at 5pm, there will be a fundraiser for Mr. José Carlos Almeida, victim of a gunshot wound that caused him to lose his sight, at the Vasco da Gama Cultural Centre Brampton (25 Fisherman Dr. Unit 19, Ontario, Canada)
This fundraiser will feature entertainment by Cesár Russio and Zé Nandes, as well as a buffet, which will be served from 6 PM to 6:30 PM:
- Salad,
Fish,
Rice,
Chicken,
Potatoes,
Dessert: Various Sweets,
Tea and Coffee
Mr. José Carlos Almeida, from Água de Pau, São Miguel (Azores), has been involved in an accident where someone accidentally shot him while he was hunting, which caused him to lose vision in one eye, but there is still hope that he can regain some vision in the other eye. Mr. Jose’s family in Boston has helped arrange a consultation with a leading eye care specialist, however treatments and surgery can cost up to $50,000.00.
