The Azorean Emigrant Association, together with the House of the Azores of The North (Porto), is presenting the 70th Anniversary Celebrations: Azores-Canada, on October 10, at 21 p.m., at the House of the Azores of The North.
Celebrating 70 Years: Azores-Canada will feature Rui Faria, President of the Association of Azorean Emigrants, as well as Eduardo Medeiros and the presentation of his latest book “Azores-Canada: From the Navigators to the Azorean Communities”, commemorating 70 years of official emigration to Canada.
The evening will also feature a photographic exhibition called “Azorean Pioneers”, which tells more about the history of the 18 Azorean pioneers who emigrated to Canada and the reality of being an emigrant at that time.
