70 YEARS OF AZOREAN EMIGRATION TO CANADA

The Regional Directorate of Communities will promote, next week, two inaugural sessions of the celebrations of 70 years of official emigration from the Azores to Canada.

These public sessions are aimed at learning about the important Azorean communities living in the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec from a media perspective. The guest speakers will be Nellie Pedro, director of the television program “Gente da Nossa TV” in Toronto, and Norberto Aguiar, editor of the newspaper “LusoPresse” and the program “LusaqTV” in Montreal.

The two sessions, with similar content and the same speakers, will take place on January 19, at 6pm, at the Public Library and Regional Archive of Ponta Delgada, and on January 20, at 6pm, at the Public Library and Regional Archive of Angra do Heroísmo.
