It was with joy that, yesterday, February 23rd, we presented in the noble hall of Ponta Delgada City Hall, our book Azores – USA: From Columbus to World War I, authored by Eduardo Pereira Medeiros.
This event was attended by the Mayor of Ponta Delgada, Pedro Nascimento Cabral, the town’s Councillor for Culture, Sérgio Rezendes, the US Consul in the Azores, Kathryn Hammond, the Regional Director for Communities, José Andrade, the author of the book, Eduardo Medeiros and the president of the Association of Azorean Emigrants, Rui Faria. We also had the presence of several civil and military entities, as well as associates of the AEAzores. To all those present we address our special thanks.
We would also like to thank the Ponta Delgada City Hall for receiving us at its facilities and for collaborating in the preparation and organisation of the event.
