The cultural association MirateArts was founded in 2002 in Vancouver, Canada, and in 2012, in the Azores. Over the years, it has been dedicated to the organization of cultural events and shows, with the purpose of enhancing the individual, team and organizational productivity, in the world of arts. Producing, promoting and presenting artists and events, it organizes concerts, dance shows, plays, galas, festivals and other artistic events, of educational nature, for several generations. Among the various events organised by this association are the Azores Fringe Festival, Montanha Pico Festival, Cordas World Music Festival, AnimalPIX, among others.
For the brilliant work done in favour of the Azorean culture and its connection with the world, it was with a deep sense of pride that in July 2021 the Azorean Emigrants Association awarded the Azores Thousand Islands Prize to MiratecArts, during the first edition of the Azores Thousand Islands Awards event that aims to honour institutions and personalities that elevate the name of the Azores within the Portuguese communities.
