Of all the important patrimonial value present in this municipality, we highlight the centenary bridge of Sete Arcos, located in the centre of Nordeste village, the São Jorge parish church, dated from 1796 and the Arnel lighthouse, which was the first one to be built in the Azores, inaugurated in 1876.

It is in this municipality that the highest point of the island of São Miguel is located, the Pico da Vara, with an altitude of 1100 metres. Lombo Gordo Beach, Nordeste. This paradisiacal beach is strongly influenced by the sea currents related to sand settling phenomena, a fact that leads it to have a very extensive stretch of sand every 7 years, only to be reduced to half its extension in the following 7 years.

In a cultural context, Nordeste keeps its traditions alive, assuring the entertainment of its population with popular and religious festivities, especially the Festa in Honour to Saint George, which is part of the programme of festivities of Nordeste Festivities, organised by Nordeste City Hall.
