azorean foods!<\/p><p>Between soups, meat and fish dishes, desserts, etc., when talking about the gastronomy of the Azores, it\u2019s impossible to not talk about the Holy Spirit\u2019s soup, the fried jack mackerels with \u201cVil\u00e3o\u201d sauce, regional steak, blood sausage with pineaaple, the \u201calcatra\u201d from Terceira, the \u201ccozido\u201d in the Furnas\u2019 boilers, the roasted octopus, the \u201csweet bread\u201d, the \u201cqueijadas Dona Am\u00e9lia\u201d, the \u201cqueijadas\u201d from Graciosa, \u201cmalassadas\u201d, \u201cbolos l\u00eavedos\u201d among many other delights from the azorean gastronomy!<\/p><p>Did you know that the american whalers in the Azores in the 18<sup>th<\/sup> and 19<sup>th<\/sup> century recruited many Azoreans to work in the whaling, and consequently it started the azorean emigration to the United States?
