Cory\u2019s Shearwater is a migratory bird that nests in the North Atlantic, in the Azores, and the population of this bird that makes its nests in the Azores represents 75 % of the world population of the specie.<\/p>

Did you know that like many azoreans they also migrate? And so that\u2019s why there is a cory\u2019s shearwater in the symbol of the Association of the Azorean Emigrants, but these birds migrate to warmer areas, where is spring and summer to mate and reproduce.<\/p>

However, the relationship between azorean people and this birds wasn\u2019t always pacific, because back in the day azoreans used to eat their meat, its fat was used for lighting and the feathers were used to make headboards and mattresses.<\/p>
