It is on the island of Pico in the Azores that is located the highest mountain in Portugal, the Pico Mountain with 2351 meters of altitude.<\/p>

Pico is considered the largest volcano in the Atlantic Ocean, which is a point of great tourist attraction, whose main crater takes on a particular characteristic through a lava cone called Piquinho, where it is possible to have a panoramic view of the neighbouring islands to Pico. Also, at its top it is possible to find volcanic fumaroles.<\/p>

Climbing Pico Mountain is part of the pedestrian trails of this island and it is a long walk that should be done during the summer months. It is, without a doubt, a very sought after place by the more adventurous and you can enjoy a magnificent sunrise at the top of the mountain.<\/p>
