know more about the Azorean emigration!<br \/>This week we had another interview for a documentary about emigration and aviation in the Azores, made by the Ph.D. historian S\u00e9rgio Rezendes with Azorean, Mr. R\u00fabens Pav\u00e3o!<br \/>Mr. R\u00fabens Pav\u00e3o was a teacher for many years and played a fundamental role in establishing a connection between Azorean schools and schools in Azorean communities in the United States, and he was a pioneer in connecting the Azores with its emigrants.<br \/>In the conversation with historian Rezendes and the Azorean Emigrants Association, R\u00fabens Pav\u00e3o, now 88 years old, told us about his early memories of emigration to the Azores, about the poverty that existed in the islands, such as houses with straw roofs, barefooted people, etc., as well as about several situations in the Azores, such as the rationing of products during World War II and the British and American military planes in Santana during that war.<br
