This image and its mystique reside in a house: the Monastery of Our Lady of Hope on the island of S\u00e3o Miguel. Founded in the 16th century, this conventual space houses the reliquary bust of Christological suffering that acquires prominence from the second half of the 17th century and remains alive in the faith of thousands of believers.
