On May 13<\/strong> (Saturday<\/span>), the second edition of the latest book<\/span> “Chronicles – Communities, Emigration and Lusophony”<\/strong><\/em> by Daniel Bastos will be presented<\/strong> at 10:00 am at the Portuguese Pioneers of Toronto Gallery<\/strong> (960 St Clair Ave W<\/span>), as part of the official celebrations of 70 years of Portuguese emigration to Canada.<\/span><\/p>

The book will be presented by Maria Beatriz Rocha-Trindade<\/strong>, President of the Migrations Committee of the Lisbon Geographic Society<\/span>, and by Comendador Manuel DaCosta,<\/strong> one of the most active and benefited Portuguese businessmen in Toronto.<\/span><\/p>

All proceeds from the sale of the books will go to the Magellan Community Foundation, an institution responsible for building Toronto’s first long-term care home for Portuguese-speaking seniors, with 350 beds.<\/span><\/p>
