We have been reminding all members to the general assembly of the Association of Azorean Emigrants, on February 18, at 8:00 pm at the Ribeiragrandense Theater. The points to be presented at the meeting will be: 1. Approval of Accounts and Report Activities 2018; 2. Presentation Calendar Activities 2019; 3. Other Matters.
As part of the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of Emigration to Canada, the Association of Azorean Emigrants (AEA) will hold conferences related to the theme at the Ribeira Grande Theater (Ribeira Grande, island of São Miguel), on Monday June 15th, starting at 7:30 p.m.). During the meeting will be honored Duarte Mendes and Alzira Silva, former responsible for the folder of Emigration and Communities in regional governments led by Mota Amaral and Carlos César, respectively. Three academic emigrants will be speakers at the meeting: José Carlos Teixeira, a professor at the University of British Columbia, and Sara Vieira, a doctoral student at the same university in Vancouver, and Nisa Remígio, a researcher at Concordia University in Montreal. Speeches will also be made by Suzanne Cunha, president of the Casa dos Açores do Ontario, and the author of the book “From One Island to the Other – Fragments of Memory”, José Luís Jácome. The Association of Azorean Emigrants is pleased to announce that the local registrations are open for the Azores Emigrant Cup / VI Golf Tournament - September 30 and October 1, 2017. Local registrations take place from September 9th to 27th (with limit of 28 openings). Registrations Includes Two Days of Tournament with: breakfast; half way snack; lunch and entertainment. (50 € per person) . Please make Payment only in cash on the 1st day of the tournament). You can register at the Golf courses of the furnas or Batalha. We anticipated a weekend full of enthusiasm and pleasant social moments.
